The Christmas Table has been our signature piece since 1986 when we first advertised it in the local newspaper and sold 20 tables in just two weeks. This beautiful cherry stand, inspired by a 1760 Breakfast Table has graced the homes of over 290 customers. We have customers who have given these tables to every member of their family, and now to their Grandchildren on their wedding day.

It's a beautifully designed solid cherry stand with a chamfered top, a cupid's bow carved skirt, and gracefully tapered legs, all handsomely finished with 5 applications of hand-rubbed tung oil for a silky-smooth, soft-satin finish. It's made with strong mortise and tenon construction, and designed to be passed down from one generation to the next, ensuring it will see many Christmas mornings. Use it as a side table in any room.

It is a table that transcends time and represents simplicity, and beauty inherent in honest, hand- made American Furniture. Each table is signed, numbered, and branded with our hallmark. Solid American Black Cherry.

Christmas Table #295

Only

$280.00

Cherry is one of America’s most premier hardwoods, and was used to build some of the finest pieces in America.  Redway Furniture uses only the best cherry available and we have finished this piece with 5 coats of hand-rubbed tung oil for a silky-smooth satin finish. This natural finish will slowly darken and built a beautiful patina within only a few weeks. It may look light now, but it will darken fairly quickly.

The top is made using three planks of solid cherry that all came from the same board.  They are carefully glued up ensuring that they will match in both grain and color.

The edges of the table are chamfered and the tenons are secured in their mortises with hand-planed black walnut pegs. The legs have some pretty figure.

The top is secured to the base with cherry cleats that allow the top to freely move with the changes in the seasons and with humidity levels.

The table is also signed numbered, dated and branded with our hallmark

This table was made by Jason Redway, who is the youngest son of James Redway. He continues the Redway tradition of great design, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
